Hope you all enjoy PASCOS2013, and we wish all foreign participants a
pleasant stay in Taiwan.
Otto Kong and Chia-Chi Liu (on behalf of OC)
We are glad to formally announce the 19th
International Symposium on Particles, Strings, and Cosmology (PASCOS
2013) to be held at Taipei, Taiwan, Nov. 20-26, 2013 with website at
http://www.phy.ncu.edu.tw/hep/pascos2013/
, and cordially invite your participation.
The aims of the symposium are to review the recent progress in particle
physics, string theory and cosmology, promote the exchange of ideas and
discuss the future. Although the meeting is mainly aimed at theorists,
there will also be a strong experimental component, with discussion of
new results and future experiments. We plan on having a program with a
comprehensive coverage of all important topic areas and a participant
number of 250-300. We also hope to provide an enjoyable program beyond
the great physics sharing the natural and cultural beauty of Taiwan. For
example, our social program includes the opportunity to attend the 40th
anniversary performance production ¡§Rice¡¨ of the world-renowned Cloud
Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan (http://www.cloudgate.org.tw/eng/); the
founder and key choreographer of which, Mr. Lin Hwai-min, has just won
the 2013 Samuel H. Scripps / American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime
Achievement in modern dance of The American Dance Festival. Our program
plan also includes an excursion, including the Palace Museum (http://www.npm.gov.tw/)
as one option, and a banquet high up on Taipei 101 (http://www.taipei-101.com.tw/index_en.html).
Invited plenary speakers include representatives from ATLAS, CMS, LHCb,
and T2K (T. Kobayashi), F. Bouchet, R. Brandenberger, A. Djouadi, J.
Ellis, G. Gabadaze, T. Han, L. Ibanez, E. Komatsu, A. Lukas, K. Olive,
F. Quevedo, T. Takayanagi, A. Schwimmer, U. Seljak, G. Shiu, J. Valle,
and a few more to be confirmed. We also plan on having 30 or more other
invited talks to give a good coverage of all interesting topic areas.
Interested parties may visit our website and sign up as pre-registered
immediately, which will ensure you do not miss any information about
the program and also allows you to submit a talk, the latter will be
reviewed under 11 subject themes each with an international group of 3
invited session conveners starting from July.
We are looking forward to seeing you at PASCOS 2013.
