Excursion

Participants can choose to join one of the three excursion trips (on Nov. 23) with cost included in the registration fee. Extra excursion tickets for sale on site at NT$2000 each. All trips set-off from the conference site at 9:00 a.m. and end there around 5:00 p.m. English speaking tour-guides and lunch provided. Admission onto buses requires your excursion tickets.

Ju Ming is an important local artist, with an international reputation, especially for the unique spirit and character of his works.  The outdoor was museum built from scratch, turning a wasteland into a large-scale sculpture park. The artist himself took part in the whole process of constructing the museum, from organization to supervising of the building and architectural design.

Yehliu Geopark

The coastal rock formation of the Yehliu Geopark is one of most famous landscape of the kind in the world. Wave attacks, rock weathering, earth movement and crustal movement all contribute to the formation of  a rare and stunning geological landscape. You can find beautiful mushroom rocks, ginger rocks, sea caves, etc. there, the fascinating creation of the nature.

Longshan Temple is a famous old temple in Taiwan. It is for worshiping Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits. The doors, beams, and poles are beautifully decorated. The sculptures are delicate. There are traditional streets/shops, antique shops, Buddhists article shops, and Chinese medicine shops surrounding the temple. At the Bopiliao Historic District, visitors can see well-preserved streets and traditional shop homes from the Qing period, as well as buildings from the Japanese occupation and early post-war periods. These places are great to visit due to their richness in folk art.

National Palace Museum


National Palace Museum, with its antique collection amounts to nearly 700,000 pieces whose age range covers almost the entire five-thousand-year-old Chinese history, has made it as the greatest and priceless treasure house regarding Chinese art on earth. Among the collections, you may enjoy Chinese earthenware like pottery, porcelain, as well as bronze, jade ware, sculpture, embroidery, calligraphy and painting; each piece is a true curio.

 Route C: The Lin Family Mansion and Garden & Yingge Ceramics Museum

The Lin Family Mansion and Garden

The best garden in northern Taiwan. The Garden was built during 1888 to 1893 and it is the only classic garden as historical site. It is also the well-kept model building representing gardens and residences of Qing Dynasty. Other than the garden and the architecture, a "three-section mansion" for 150 years old has been restored and presented to the public. They fully reflect the beauty of Chinese traditional architecture.

Yingge Ceramics Museum



The Yingge Ceramics Museum is the first professional pottery museum in Taiwan. It displays the masterpieces created with wind stoves, clay, and glazes, with the hope that the beauty of Taiwanese ceramics will be renowned worldwide. The Yingge Ceramics Museum presents 200 years of ceramic techniques and folk culture in Taiwan.
